Start negotiations and identify the best supplier
Auction based on price and quality
The initial bids are the starting point for several negotiation rounds on Quel Auction. In short online negotiation rounds (of a few minutes each) suppliers post their bids. The system makes an evaluation of these bids: to what extent do the bids match the product model? This results in a ranked list that is based both on price and quality, the 'best-buy' recommendation ranked first. You use this list to make your decision. This intensive process is repeated until no new bids are posted. The contract will be awarded to the supplier who provides you with the best price quality ratio.
Quel Auction: Based on price only
Sometimes it occurs that price is the only criterium in negotiating a contract. This is usually the case with 'commodities'. You have less work in preparing the auction. Suppliers login to the auction and compete on price only.Suppliers
Quel is transparant and fair. Suppliers are aware that the buyer is not only deciding based on best price, but that quality criteria which have been determined prior to the auction, also have an important weight. They also know that during the nogotiation rounds they can actually win the contract. The bids are not meant as a manoeuvre just to push prices of the present supplier downwards.Benefits of online auctions:
- Impose clear structure in the demands and requirements of the buyer.
- Transparent evaluation of competing suppliers.
- Competitive, honest and efficient electronic negotiations with multiple suppliers at the same time.
- Identification of the best supplier based on price AND quality.
