UK-Wakefield: professional engineering services 2010 - 2013.
The Framework Contract for Professional Engineering Services 2010, (the
Contract), will enable Wakefield Council to call upon the services of
engineering professionals to assist in delivering all aspects of municipal
engineering. The main aspects are listed below,
Civil engineering consultancy services.
Highway engineering services.
Highway consultancy services.
Engineering design services for the construction of civil engineering
works.
Engineering design services for traffic installations.
Bridge design services.
Load bearing structures design services.
Construction supervision services.
Quantity surveying services for civil engineering works.
Each task order detailing the services required will be awarded via a mini
tender, as described in the tender documents, to the successful service
providers.
The concluded framework agreement will be divided into lots. These lots
are:
1) Highway design and construction management
2) Transportation and transport planning
3) Structures
4) Drainage design / watercourses / flood management.
5) Urban traffic control / traffic signal design / signalised junction
design.
6) Pavement design / materials / material testing.
7) Other engineering services. E.g. but not exclusively, vehicle restraint
systems
CCTV, Car Park Systems. Others as proposed by applicants.
It is proposed to appoint 3 contractors per lot, except Lot 7 which may
have up to 10 contractors depending on the proposals from specialist
contractors.
A Contractor may be appointed for one Lot or for multiple lots up to and
including all lots.
It is anticipated that the commencement date will be late 2010.
Tenders will be assessed on the basis of the most economically
advantageous tender based on a quality and price which will be described
in the tender documentation.
It is proposed that the contract will run for 3 years with the option to
extend for a further 1 year.
The value of work against each lot cannot be established at this time.
Historically the existing framework has an approximate overall value of
100 000 GBP per annum, however future workloads are unknown so values may
vary between GBP0 (zero) and the upper limit noted on the OJEU notice (1
000 000 GBP).
