ZDB a.s., BOHUMIN, the company with the tradition longer than 120 years and situated in Central Europe, had originated from the prior state establishment Zelezarny a dratovny (Iron and Wire Works) Bohumin. It belongs among the leading companies with the management trained at the prestigious international managerial institutes. When you take a closer look at these production series, you will find that both product and service prospectus are really very large-scaled. Our products are visible in various industries. In the road transport you can find our tyre cords and cable beads, in building industry they use our reinforcement iron bars and steel wires ropes for the prestressed concrete lining, in housing and building materials. Withal there is the whole range of other industries like engineering, car and aircraft industry where the light steel sections, sheet bars, steel wire ropes, springs, metallic gauze and nettings can be applied. The quality management system complying with requirements of ISO 9001:2000 standard, basic principle of which is satisfaction of customers with products and deliveries from ŽDB a.s., is established and maintained in our company. This principle is incorporated into the quality policy of ŽDB a.s. which includes also commitmens of the ŽDB a.s. management to fulfil it and expectation that company´s employees would contribute to accepted quality policy by their creative business activities. The system is certified by TUV Cert Bonn, conformity of the quality management system in all productive divisions to the standard requirements is regularly assessed by the RW TUV examination place, Essen, validity of the issued certificates is kept in the updated form namely on the base of carrying check-up and revision audits in accordance with the plan .
In harmony with the conditions for membership of the organisation EFQM (European Foundation for Quality Management), with head quarters in Brussels, whose member is ŽDB a.s. since 1996, there are, in the firm, gradually implemented elements for EFQM Excellence Model principle’s completion and for its individual modules‘ completion.
