The Westfälische Metall-Locherei Franz Fahl GmbH, founded by Wilhelm Brackenwagen in 1907, is a family owned and operated firm, now being managed by the family’s fourth generations. The company presently employs a staff of more than 30 persons.
Today’s performance spectrum includes the manufacture of perforated metal, either from coils, or standard sheets as well as cut to size sheets, made up from all types of
materials amenable to punching – including steel, stainless steel, non-ferrous metals, plastics and the like. In addition we offer ancillary treatments like hot-dip galvanizing, electroplating, painting and powder-coating of perforated metals.
The range of uses for perforated sheets and coils is immense, involving the broadest conceivable fields within the investment and production goods sectors. There is hardly any industry which does not require perforated metal in one form or another. Typical examples include mechanical engineering, equipment engineering, the automotive industry, mining, chemicals, foods and agriculture, construction and civil engineering, architecture and interior design, retail shop fittings, trade fair booth construction, woodworking and lamp fixture manufacture. For all these application areas – and for a large number of others – Fahl is a recognized, high-performance specialist in perforated metal design and manufacture.
Included among the production equipment are cnc engineered sectional- and all across presses as well as turret punching machines. A wide variety of perforations can be punched using tools on hand. Over and above this, our in house tool shop can make up new tooling as required.

Depending on the customer’s wishes, the production may include material or may be handled as a job shop order using customer material. We can manufacture to specifications, drawings, sketches or samples and following our own draft drawings to cover the particular needs for perforated panels. This performance spectrum includes individual sheets, short manufacturing runs and high-volume production. We stock a wide range of perforated plates, ready for shipping or pick-up.
