One of the foremost suppliers of equipment for power plants and oil extraction in Romania and in Central and South East Europe, Vulcan S.A. was founded in 1904. The fabrication program of Vulcan S.A. includes: industrial and energetical boilers, surface pumping units for oil extraction, nuclear power plant equipment, coal mills, induced or forced draft fans, gear reducers, equipment for water treatment, welded structures. Special orders on customer’s design and specification are also fulfilled in the field of chemical, petrochemical, metallurgical and cement industries, environmental protection equipment.
Since 1998, Vulcan S.A. has also been performing welded products of special steels SA 335 P91 and X10CrMoVNb9.1. The welding procedure for X10CrMoVNb9.1 has been qualified according to TUV.
The manufacture in Vulcan S.A. is under the provisions of a quality assurance system in accordance with ISO-9001. The Quality Assurance Manual MAC-9000 was issued for this purpose.
The range of boilers and boiler parts is very wide, starting with house heating (use) boilers up to industrial and utility boilers, with capacities up to 2000 t/h.
Since April 1991, Vulcan S.A. has been qualified by ASME for boiler fabrication (Section I, Code Symbol S), pressure vessels (Section VIII, Division I, Code Symbol U) and piping (ASME/ANSI B31.1, Code Symbol PP).
The manufacturing of these products is made under a specific Quality Control Manual MCC-01.
Vulcan S.A. exports boiler and boiler parts all over the world. Beside this constant export output Vulcan S.A. is participating and manufacturing 80-85% of all Romanian power plants (boiler section).
Since May 1994, Vulcan S.A. has been authorized by TUV for pressure parts fabrication in compliance with German Technical Prescriptions.
Since September 1998, Vulcan S.A. has been qualified by China State Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision, Certificate no. 98267 M – for Boiler and Stationary Pressure Vessels.
Since 1956 Vulcan S.A. has been designing and manufacturing sucker road surface pumping units for oil extraction and since October 1978, Vulcan S.A. pumping units have been manufactured according to API – Specification Q1/11E, and has been awarded the authorization to use API monogram. More than 26,000 pumping units have been exported worldwide.
Vulcan S.A. is performing and delivering components for nuclear power station, like supports, flanges, fittings and header feeders, according to a Canadian license and under AECL certification.
Since December 2002, Vulcan S.A. is a private owned company; the main shareholder (83% of shares) is a powerful Romanian private company – Tender Group. The rest of the shares are owned by private persons and an investment fund.
