For over 80 years the production of high tensile shackles has been our core business. Mr. Dirk van Beest founded the company Van Beest in 1922, initially as a supplier of iron works to the dredging industry. From the very beginning, the company has been forging shackles. Its iron work expertise gave the Van Beest shackles an edge over the competition. This was the start of a network of professional users that now stretches to places all over the world. Our shackles are marked Green Pin® .

Green Pin®
Van Beest manufactures high quality, high tensile, shackles in its production facility in Sliedrecht, the Netherlands. It is a genuine “made in Holland” product. We brand these products as Green Pin® .Van Beest Green Pin® shackles can be identified by the green coloured pin and the marking on the shackle body and pin. Green Pin® and the colour green applied to the pin are both registered trade marks of Van Beest. The original Green Pin® shackles are marked with for instance:

WLL25T Bs K 6 CE

This stands for: a Working Load Limit of 25 metric tons; manufacturer's symbol of Van Beest Holland; traceability code; steel grade and "Conformity European". For sales in the market of the United States, we additionally mark each individual shackle with "Holland" (with exception of shackles with 6, 8, 10 and 11 millimeters diameter of the bow/shackle which are too small to be marked. These shackles are packed per 25 pieces in one bag, and each bag carries the marking "Holland").
