The foundry TOS-MET spol. s r.o. offers grey iron in the EN 1561 and nodular iron castings in the 1563. The TOS-MET company has the quality control system EN ISO 9001:2000 from CERT ACO. The town of Celákovice, about 16 miles estwards of Prague, has a favourable connection with the capital. Looking forward to see you and to our cooperation.

Company history
In 1910 the industrialist J. Volman founded in Celákovice a company for the production of machine tools, the first in the Czech lands. The original production of drills, metal knives and manual pressers was expanded in 1925 by a new range of lathes.
In 1935 the plant was expanded by another hall and the number of employees doubled.
In 1936 a plan in Žebrák was bought by the company with the possibility of extending production into the sphere of specialised milling machines.
In the inter-war period the company was nationalised and under the brand-name TOS expanded its activities in the sphere of machine tools over the course of the next few decades with lathes which proved very successful on the market, as well as specialised machines for the production of cogs, etc.
The foundry played a significant role in the success of the production of machine tools with supplies of high quality casts, the production of which in Celákovice runs throughout the entire history of the company.
In 1962 the operation was inaugurated of a new, modern foundry, replacing the original operation.
After 1989 the foundry availed itself of the possibility of an independent commercial policy within the context of the parent company TOS and very quickly adapted to the new conditions.
In 1994 the company was registered as TOS-MET limited liability company, which bought the foundry from a.s.TOS Celákovice. Subsequently there was extensive modernisation of operations with the purchase of modern equipment and top-class technology.
At present approximately 85% of the clients of TOS-MET s.r.o. are foreign, from Finland, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Hungary and Belgium. The company's aim is to improve its approach to the customer and build on its long tradition.

Weight category up to 120 kg:

We manufacture casts in the weight category up to 120 kg on an automatic BMD moulding line. The dimension of the casts is limited by the diameter of the moulding frames to 890 x 690 x 300/300. The technology allows us to cater for requirements for small series as well as for large scale production. The range is very varied, from brake drums and discs, casts of cases, pumps, engine cases, to casts of pressure distributors.


Weight category up to 1200 kg:

Casts in the weight category 120 - 1200 kg are manufactured on the FURAN - mixture line. The maximum dimension of the frame is 2500 x 1500 mm. There is the possibility of manufacturing individual units and series. The successful production of casts of stands, cases, pedestals, pumps, etc. is guaranteed by the modern technology of the moulding allows and our experience with this character of casts.


Weight category up to 12 500 kg:

Castings falling into the higher weight category of up to 12 500 kg are manufactured on a manual operated moulding shop intended for the one - off and small - lot produktion. The moulds are produced with the Furan resin technology. The casts are limited by the dimension of the sand blasting machine and the bearing capacity of the cranes.


Quality management system
In 1999 the implementation was completed of the quality control system in accordance with the EN ISO 9002:1994 norms. In May of this year successful audits of the system were carried out by the certification organisations CERT ACO.
In 2001 the company management decided to introduce a quality control system in accordance with the EN ISO 9001:2000 norms and to use the procedural approach during the application and improvement of the effectiveness of the quality control system. In June of 2002 the company was successfully certified in accordance with this norms.
