In year 2005 TOWIMOR will celebrate its 100 years' anniversary.

The company history and development started in 1905, when the factory was founded by Torun Inland Water Authorities as a repair workshops for small river vessels. Since then, the Company was continuously connected with shipbuilding industry, and even bad times of wars did not inter-rupt activities of the Company, which developed and expanded all the time.
Based on own designs series production of deck equipment for sea-going ships has been started since year 1967.
Today Towimor SA employs 530 people and is a renown supplier of modern deck machinery and cranes. The company has produced more than 15 000 winches of various type and destination, and more than 1 000 cranes, which were installed on board of more than 2 500 ships of many flags.

PRODUCTION
Specialised and modern production facilities as well as highly qualified staff ensure the high quality and compliance with the world standards.
Workshop area of the company - 23 400 m2. The owned machinery and reloading equipment of production halls enable :
-machining of toothed wheels of diameter up to 3000 mm, module up to 30 mm and weight to 4 tons,
- drilling, boring and milling of construction elements of weight up to 50t,
- cutting and bending of plates of thickness up to 110 mm, width up to 3000 mm and length - up to 6000 mm,
- production of steel constructions such as jibs, beams and masts of length up to 40 m and other constructions of elements weight up to 50 tons.
The quality is being checked carefully at every production stage.
There are carried out different examinations and testing, such as for example:
- material strength testing,
- magnetic particle inspection of materials and welds,
- ultrasonic and X-ray examinations,
- measurements of accuracy and geometry of toothed wheels.

Towimor has got the special testing stands for all kind of produced machinery. The equipment of crane testing stand enables to carry out special tests in heel - simulating the conditions on board a ship.
Testing stand for winches is adapted for checking of anchor-mooring, cargo as well as fishing winches with both electric and hydraulic drive. This stand enables to carry out the full tests of winches under load up to 60 ton. After tests - with certificates issued by Classification Society or Manufacturer's Quality Inspection - machinery can be installed on board the vessel.
The made by Towimor machinery complies with the requirements and regulations of all major classification societies as well as safety rules of survey organisations, ensure the safe and re-liable operation in difficult marine conditions.

In year 2002 the company received DNV, BV, ABS and GL Approval Certificates for welding operations in compliance with offshore requirements.
