Company description
In 1919, Josef Sousedik founded Josef Sousedik Electrical Engineering Company Vsetín which was a predecessor of the company MEZ Vsetín and later od today’s TES Vsetin, s. r. o. At that time the production focused mainly on asynchronous and direct-current motors. After 1945, the company’s name was changed to MEZ Vsetín and a dynamic development followed, with production expanding to commutator motors, motor output and rotation measurement test units and complete drives with DC motors. MEZ was integrated into the centralised corporation ZSE Prague, ranking among the most important exporters. Following the then economic policy, the principle target markets were the countries of the Council for Mutual Economic Assistance (Comecon).
Significant organization and production changes have been introduced since 1989. In mutual cooperation with foreign partners, the traditional production program has been extended to synchronous generators and forming machines. In 1996, the state-owned company was privatized, with TES VSETÍN, s.r.o. acquiring the electrical engineering section. Technical and production capacity based on many years of tradition allows the company to maintain its major customers in Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland, France, Austria, Turkey, Slovakia, Poland, Russia and Thailand. Export represents 70 – 80% of annual production.
