Company description

Foundry Zetor is the stock company, wich was founded by the separation of the foundry activities from Zetor a.s. and was written in the commercial register by the Commercial court in Brno on 9.december 1998.

The company is provading the gray-iron casting production, heat-treat of the metals, the patterns production, the joinery production.
Intra its production activities is provading the company first of all the gray-iron casting production for tractors for outer inland and outland customer.

Regional location

The company is located in the plant area of the Zetor a.s. in Brno. The foundry area is cca 65 000 m2. The plant area of Zetor a.s. is located on the east Brno periphery and by the comming to Brno with highway D1 is the best variant to use the highway exit Brno-Slatina (airport).

Company history

Slévárna Zetor, a.s. belong into modern foundry in the Czech republic and with its production capacity into the bigest foundry of gray iron in the Czech republic. The operation of the new foundry in Brno-Líšen was opened in the year 1964. In the years 1982-1985 was made another modernizing in the plants of the smelt-house shop, moulder shop and partly draycleaner shop. The foundry in this time reached up to the capacity of the 40 000 tons of the gray-iron castings per year. After the modernizing was transfered step by step in the years 1989-1994 the production and put the stop to the operation in the primary foundry Vankova (nearby the Brno central coach station), where was produced the gray-iron castings already from the year 1864 and the whole production was transfered to the foundry Slévárna Zetor in Brno-Líšen.
Now the foundry Slévárna Zetor, a.s. produce the grey-iron castings made in the most part for agricultural and motoring production.

The stock company Slévárna Zetor intra its production activities is provading the gray-iron casting production in the quality according CSN 42 2420, CSN 42 2425 (GG 15, GG 20, GG 25, dle DIN 1691, the surface quality of the casting PZ 100 - 160 um, dimension precision in according CSN 014470.3, follow DIN 1686 GTB 16) and special iron low aloy with tin. The surface casting design is painted by ecological adulterate oilresistant undercoat Rembrandtin-REM-AQUA-RT - redbraun tint. Castings acceptance follow EN 1569-1 a EN 1569-3.
The production are destinated for tractor and motoring industry, agricultural, textil and other machines, communal castings - sewer cover, bench etc. Centre of production are made from motor castings (crankcases, cylinder heads, sucker and exhaust flanges), further the castings for gears (speed housing, final drive, fly-wheel, cluth castings), axle castings (axle housing, portal, brake castings) and further the castings for compressors, pumps, covers, hydraulics etc.
The speciality of the foundry is producing of the more cylinder heads castings by using Hot-Box and Cold-Box cores. The production is diversifikated according to the moulding lines on the light castings (casting weight 0,5 - 15 kg, frame dimension 500x400/120x120mm) from the light mould line, middle castings (to the weight cca 50 kg, frame dimension 780x680/200x200mm) from the middle mould line, box (heavy) castings (to the weight cca 300 kg, frame dimension 1400x850/400x400mm) from the heavy moulding line and monolit cylinder head castings from the line Flexiblomatic. The production capacity of the foundry is cca 35 000 tons the grey-iron castings.
The grey-iron production is made for the tractor plant of the Zetor company, so as for the outer inland and outland customers. The outer production is realizated for the firms from BRD, Austria, Italy, Slovakia (for example for ZF Passau, ZF STEYR, HATZ, Sulzer Tessile, Hawle, TS Motory, DS Martin,...) etc.
The quality control system is on the level according to the europe standard. In the present time is prepared for the casting area the certification for applying the quality rule ISO 9000.
