The beginning of Rombouts goes back to 1896 when Franciscus Rombouts started his modest coffee business in Antwerp. His intention was to establish a solid reputation for expertise and quality. This tradition that he started has developed and grown into the company Rombouts is today. We are currently one of the largest coffee-roasting companies in Belgium, with numerous autonomous establishments throughout the world.
This did not, of course, happen overnight. Different generations have made major contributions to the growth of the company, sometimes with spectacular success. In 1964, for example, Rombouts developed the first ready-to-use individual coffee filters. This technological breakthrough made Rombouts the undisputed leader in this sector of the world market. A position which we still hold today. This, too, is part of the Rombouts tradition: investing in innovation to consolidate our position as leader on the international markets.
Constant innovation, new machinery, modernisation of production techniques and systematic development of the infrastructure - all these elements have contributed to Rombouts' continuing success. We are currently making tremendous progress on the international
markets with our carefully-considered brandname policy and future-orientated marketing strategy. Internet is amongst one of our different methods at present. We are again choosing options for far-reaching innovation and expansion as well as always being geared to producing a perfect end-product : the foundation of Rombouts' success.
