Company description
History of foundry industry in the district town of Vsetín starts at the beginning of the 19th century, in these time was established by the company named Thonet the foudry manufacturing the gray cast iron. In 1922 the Thonet foundry was taken over by Josef Sousedík, a manufacturer of electrical machines.
After 1945 the foundry was organizationally allocated to the national enterprise named MEZ Vsetín, being a subsidiary of holding named ZSE Praha. Castings have been manufactured not only for use within the inherent foundry, but for other domestic enterprises, as well.
After 1989 takes place a separation of the MEZ Vsetín, being at that time a state enterprise, which fact led to enlargement of the scope of manufacturing program as well as resulted in acquisition of new customers. That is why a new technology for manufacturing the castings via Lost Foam process has been imported from the U.S.A., which remained lonely both in the Czech Republic and the Europe. This production line was designed for a serial production.
Within the framework of privatization the foundry management submitted a competitive privatization project via a direct sale.
Slévárna Vsetín spol. s r.o. was established on March 8th, 1994 and bought the assets of foundry on the January 1st, 1996.
In 1997 a fully automated forming line was purchased from the Italian company named Foundry Automation for manufacturing the small and medium grey cast iron products. Furthermore was installed a Škoda continuous blasting machine, a new manufacturing facility for manufacturing of coasting cores, gas heating of the foundry. Erection and installation of the dust removal plant of the cupola furnaces represents one of environmental projects.
To enable further development of the company the company owners made a decision to find out a strategic partner, who will subsequently up-to-date the manufacturing process together with cintemporary proprietors as well as who should participate in management of the company. As such parther has been chosen company named Procento, spol. s r.o.
For the purpose of stabolization of both purchase and sale the foundry concentrated these activities under the commercial management of subsidiary company named Procento-Metalurgie spol. s r.o. That is why the raw material supplies as well as sale of products of Slévárna Vsetín spol. s r.o. are ensured via the Procento-Metalurgie spol. s r.o. company since the January 2000.
