Mittal Steel Poland SA concentrates ca 70 % of Polish steel industry production capacity. The Company consolidates four largest Polish steel plants located in Krakow [former Huta Sendzimira], in Dabrowa Gornicza [former Huta Katowice], in Sosnowiec [former Huta Cedler] and in Swietochlowice [former Huta Florian].
Steel production capacities reach 7.6 million tons of crude steel and ca 6.6 million tons of rolled products per year. The Company is one of the largest Polish exporters and sells its products to more than 60 countries worldwide.
Coke production: Mittal Steel Poland is the largest coke producer in Mittal Steel group. The capacity of two coke plants owned by Mittal steel Poland amounts to ca 6 million tons a year.
The capital group Mittal Steel Poland comprises 66 subsidiaries and affiliated companies. 25 of the above are the companies with 100% shareholding of Mittal Steel Poland.
In a global family: Mittal Steel Poland is a member of Mittal Steel Company NV which is the largest in the world and truly global steel company, producing over 48 m tons of steel. It was established in consequence of the merger of Ispat International N.V., LNM Holdings N.V. and International Steel Group. The company owns plants in fourteen countries, on four continents.
Privatization benefits: Mittal Steel Poland S.A., operating since March 5, 2004 within the group Mittal Steel Company N.V., made a substantial progress: the issue of the financial liquidity has been solved, barter trade has been eliminated, sales structure has been improved, domestic market has been largely regained.
