Key Facts about KeyTec
KeyTec is an ambitious, global supplier of metal, plastic and combined metal/plastic high-precision components and assemblies. Originally formed in 1980, the company was divested from Philips Electronics N.V. in 1999. Important acquisitions (Mecoma and KMT) in 2000, have considerably reinforced KeyTec's competencies and boosted its position in key areas of technology.
KeyTec employs around 900 people worldwide and has facilities in all key regions. Specializing in the mass production of components and assemblies for major industry players and international OEM companies worldwide, KeyTec is capable of producing annual quantities ranging from around 100 K units to over 800 million units.
Next to essential production technologies, such as, precision stamping, deep drawing, CNC turning, high-precision bending, mechanical assembly, and decoration, KeyTec has unique capabilities in insert/outsert moulding and precision injection moulding. KeyTec also offers laser welding and laser cutting within very fine tolerances, as well as thermal welding, ultrasonic welding, and adhesive bonding. Due to KeyTec's long association with Philips Electronics, the company has access to an enormous technology base. Customers like Bosch, Ericsson, Flextronics, Honeywell, Nokia, Panasonic, Philips, Psion, Samsung, Siemens, Sony, Symbol Technologies, and Texas Instruments. Although our specific focus is on the display components, wireless communications, and automotive segments, KeyTec is a vital source of components for many segments.
