Ferro Doküm, a subsidiary of SISECAM Group, is a jobbing foundry established in 1972, in order to meet the gray and ductile iron needs of the automotive industry. The production spectrum extends to serve the electrical, machinery and glass industries with facilities capable of producing 300 gr to 150 kg pieces on a mass production basis. It is conveniently located in Gebze, 40 km east of Istanbul, on Highway E5 to Ankara.
Ferro Doküm has started production with an initial annual capacity of 2.000 tons. Over the years, increasing demand and hard competitive environment has led Ferro Doküm to constantly enlarge its capacity and apply new techniques in production.
The yearly capacity has reached to 6.000 tons in 1984, and 10.000 tons in 1990. In August 1998, a new foundry has been put into operation and annual capacity has reached to 30.000 tons.
Sixty percent ot the production is nodular iron and forty percent is gray iron. Eighty percent of its production capacity is used for castings in automobiles, tractors and commercial vehicles. With the exception of engine blocks and heads Ferro Doküm answers all the casting needs of the automotive industry. It also casts insulating sockets for the electrical industry and different kinds of molds for the glass industry.
Ferro Doküm has 22.000 m2 covered and 52.000 m2 total area, currently there are 350 blue collar and 150 white collar employees including 30 engineers.
