Welcome to FERAMO Metallum International Ltd., manufacturer of grey cast iron castings and patterns from materials - wood, epoxi, metal.
FERAMO M.I. is since 1932 a grey cast iron foundry, which would specialized yourself at the beginig on heating technology like a boiler cells, radiators, etc. In years 1970-1990 comes the foundry thrue a extensive modernization, whereby arose a modern producer with a very large castings line. Integration from traditon and modern technology make it possible to produce a very good-class castings for a different industrial spheres.

Our main efforts are focused on meeting the requirements of companies that need grey cast iron castings with lamellar graphite weighing from 0,5 to 1,000 kg, in quantities ranging to a lot and lot production. We are able, however, to meet much broader range of requirements while maintaining good quality, reasonable price level and short delivery dates.

Our quality assurance programme is implemented in different phases:

· Pattern checks
· Checks of cores before they are places in moulds
· Sand mixture analysis in the company's own laboratory
· Spectrographic batch analysis
· Final inspection of finished products

All the checks are made by independent operators. The good quality of our products is also guaranteed by the use of good quality raw materials supported by relevant certificates. Furthermore, machining is offered as yet another measure to reduce the risk of poor quality of castings.

Thanks to our manufacturing technology, we can offer to supply:
The foundry is producing grey iron castingsin compliance with CSN 422415, CSN 422420 a CSN 422425 (in compliance with DIN GG 15, GG 20 and GG25).

On request, the castings are inoculated or annealed to facilitate machining.

The major part of production is provided by series and mass production of castings in weight range from 0,1 to 35 kg. The assortment includes 1200 to 1400 items. A company´s own pattern-shop provides pattern equipment made of:
metal
wood
cast resin

and their combination including core boxes for purpose of the technology applied and by request of customers.
Annual production rate of the foundry fluctuates about 16.000 tons.


Technology equipment of the iron foundry

Melting
Liquid metal preparation is provided by hot-air cupola furnaces with melting zone diameter of 1000 mm and with automatic charging system.

Casting
Casting of liquid metal is provided through automatic casting machines with induction heating PRESSPOUR 5 CTO from ASEA and INVR 2500/100 from INDUCAL. Both automatic machines are equipped with metal stream graphite inoculation system of type MSI 90 from FOSECO
The conveyor line is equipped with jolting machines with coining of type FOROMAT 40 with optional moulding into frames with dimensions 800 x 800 x 250/250 mm.

Moulding
Moulding capacity is provided in particular bz DISAMATIC automatic frameless moulding line, namely:
Type 2013 MK 4 A - mould dimensions 600 x 480 mm
Type 2032 - mould dimensions 775 x 600 mm

Core room
Cores are manufactured by, CO2 a COLDBOX AMIN methods on LAEMPE LKZ 20, LAEMPE LKZ 25 machines.

Finishing operations
The rubbing area is equipped with nozzling machines PTB 1800 and PTB 63 B, two nozzling machines of type TS 200 and three ones of type TZV 1. Finishing is carried out on AHS 600 grinding machines. During the completation works three kinds of ground coats can be optionally applied to the castings.

System of management
All necessary data for effective and flexible company management are monitored by the central computer which, through a system of access rights, allows managers to follow the customer's order in all stages of production

Processing

Machining
The technologies used for the machining of castings include traditional machine tools. We are able to bore different holes in to the castings include screws till 16 mm for our customers.

Annealing
All the necessary or request annealing (e.g. to remove strain or to facilitate machining) is carried out in our annealing furnace for 2 to 5 tonnes of castings.
