Pre-cleaning
Ergonomic considerations play an ever-increasing role in the working environment as well as
the infection prevention of staff on the CSSD. Not only work satisfaction can be increased,
but more importantly, the risk of health complaints and contamination drastically reduces
when pre-cleaning is done effectively and ergonomically.
The Famos pre-cleaning stations are designed for the initial cleaning of dirty instruments before
the instruments are manually prepared for the cleaning- and disinfection machine.
The trays with dirty instruments are rinsed and ultrasonically cleaned before the staff has to
touch the instruments. This way of working offers the following advantages:
- Blood, tissues and proteins are effectively and automatically removed,
- A safe as possible handling of separate instruments is being created
- Chemical and thermal disinfecting can take place more effectively
The configuration of the pre-cleaning units is always customised by Famos depending on local
requirements and standards. To give you an idea what kind of pre-cleaning stations are available
we describe three different standard pre-cleaning stations:
- Manual pre-cleaning station
- Pre-cleaning station with rinse and ultrasonic tank
- Pre-cleaning station, completely automated with touch-screen control
Manual pre-cleaning station
The manual pre-cleaning station has a stainless steel top with a single or double bath.
A water rim is provided to avoid water to drop on the floor.
Above the bath a overhead-shower is placed for rinsing the instruments in combination with a
staff protection shield. The staff protection shield can be manually adjusted on three different
heights, and is mounted on a wall by means of two brackets.
The complete station has a stainless steel support frame (35x35mm) with a stainless steel shelf,
which is placed underneath the table top over the total length of the unit for storage purpose.
Dimensions: 2000 x 800 x 900 mm (LxWxH)
Pre-cleaning station with rinse and ultrasonic tank
This pre-cleaning station has a stainless steel top with a single sink and an ultrasonic cleaning
bath. A water rim is provided to avoid water to drop on the floor.
Above the bath an overhead shower is placed for rinsing the instruments in combination with a
staff protection shield. The staff protection shield can be manually adjusted on three different
heights, and is mounted on the wall by means of two brackets.
The complete station has a stainless steel support frame (35x35mm) in combination with a
storage cabinet of 900mm width placed underneath the ultrasonic cleaning tank. This cabinet
houses the ultrasonic generator and electrical controls and has two sound insulated doors.
The plint inbetween the top and the cabinet is equipped with the main controls of the ultrasonic
cleaning bath.
The ultrasonic cleaning bath consists of a seperate generator and a tank which is built-in in
the stainless steel top of the pre-cleaning station. The generator of the ultrasonic cleaning
bath is placed inside the cabinet behind the doors.
The ultrasonic cleaning bath is equipped with the following features:
Manual water inlet valve - Heating elements and temperature probe
Manual water drainage valve - V-shaped bottom for easy drainage and cleaning.
Water overflow outlet - Drain filter
Level switch - Manual lid
After having filled the ultrasonic cleaning bath manually the bath automatically starts to warm-up
until the water temperature has reached the pre-set value (around 32 degrees Celsius).
After this, the ultrasonic cleaning bath can be de-gassed by starting the pre-set program
cycle. When the de-gassing has ended, the ultrasonic cleaning bath is ready for use.
Besides the storage cabinet, a stainless steel shelf is provided for storage purpose.

Options
Automatic filling of water, detergent dosing and emptying of the ultrasonic cleaning bath by
relay techniques and process start-stop push buttons in the front cover of the pre-cleaning
station. Temperature and process time is to be set through time setting of the relays.
Automatic lift including two tray inserts and lid
Famos brings the automatic lift for loading and unloading to avoid staff from
putting the heavy trays which are filled with instruments into the ultrasonic bath in order
to prevent back injuries after a certain amount of time.
Digital control panel with digital read-out of temperature and time
Flush unit
The flush unit is used for flushing larger obstacles into the drain.
Stainless steel flush unit with an internal dimension of 400x400x250 mm and an external
dimension of 600x600x600 mm
The unit is equipped with a backsplash of 400mm and an electro-mechanical valve for side
flushing, which can be operated by means of a push button.
The unit can be connected to both hot and cold water and is standard supplied with a stainless
steel wire support frame, a 50mm drain and a dismantled filter
Pre-cleaning station, completely automatic with touch-screen control
The fully automatic Famos pre-cleaning stations are modular of design and incorporate an
automatic spraying tank and an ultrasonic cleaning bath. Both tanks are provided with fully
automatic tray lifts. Both, the spraying tank and ultrasonic cleaning bath are fully integrated
in the stainless steel worktop. The top is provided with a water rim all around the sides.
The spraying tank has eight sprayers mounted in the sides which effectively rinse the instrument
trays with cold water or mixed water.
The ultrasonic cleaning bath can be fully automatically filled, dosed, heated, de-gassed, and
emptied.
The ultrasonic cleaning bath consists of a tank that is built-in in the stainless steel top of the
pre-cleaning station and a separate generator. The generator of the ultrasonic cleaning bath
is placed inside the cabinet behind the doors.
The ultrasonic cleaning bath is equipped with the following features:

The operation of the complete unit is easily done by a touch-screen operation panel that is
mounted on an arm. The touch-screen displays the status of the spraying tank and the ultrasonic
cleaning tank and gives the operator temperature and time information. Through a touch-screen
the temperature, time, filling and dosing parameters can be set.
The lower part of the pre-cleaning has two double door cabinets which house the electrical
switchboard and ultrasonic generator as well as the dosing pump and chemical canister.
The complete pre-cleaning station can be height adjustable.

Ultrasonic cleaning bath, table top
Famos presents a wide range of standard table-top ultrasonic cleaning baths. The range
includes various dimensions and capacities. They are all available with heating and analogue
or digital controls. The controls and generator are built-in into the casing.
All ultrasonic cleaning baths are 220V-50 Hz. Other power requirements available upon request.
The ultrasonic cleaning baths are CE-marked and have a warranty on the bounding of the
transducers of two years.
Ultrasonic cleaning bath, built-in models
Next to the tabletop models Famos presents a wide range of standard and some special
ultrasonic cleaning baths which can be built-in into the pre-cleaning station or placed on a
stand. The ultrasonic cleaning baths are all supplied as a separated tank and generator. The
ultrasonic cleaning baths are available with analogue or digital controls. The digital control panel
is delivered separately with a 3-meter long connection cable. The analogue controls are built
into the front of the bath.
The ultrasonic cleaning baths have a dry run protection for the heating by means of a floating
switch. The bottom of the tank is V-shaped for easy and complete drainage.
The ultrasonic cleaning bath is equipped with the following features:

All ultrasonic cleaning baths are 220V-50 Hz and have a two years warranty on the bounding
on the transducers and are CE-marked.
Ultrasonic cleaning bath, Medical irrigation
The medical irrigation ultrasonic cleaning bath is a specially designed ultrasonic cleaning bath
which has a pulsating pump function for filling up hollow instruments which are connected to the
manifold of the pump through luer-lock connections. When hollow instruments are ultrasonically
cleaned the dirt on the inside of the instrument will normally remain inside the instrument. The
pulsating pump function provides a fluid flow through the instrument in such a way that the
dirt will be pumped out of the instrument.
Ultrasonic cleaning bath, testing equipment
To measure ultrasonic activity the ultrasonic activity detector with a hand held indicator probe
unit has been developed. Independent of the brand of your ultrasonic bath this probe is giving
you the possibility to measure its ultrasonic activity. The indicator gives you information on
the frequency and the percentage power level by means of a twin bar-graph display.
Overhead shower
The overhead shower is used for the first rough cleaning of instruments. Famos offers three
types of overhead showers, model 6534, 6536 and 6634. The models 6534 and 6536 are
switched on automatically when one pulls it downwards, while the 6634 has to be switched
on manually by pushing the handle which is mounted on the top of the overhead shower.
The models 6534 and 6536 are similar to one another with exception that the 6536 is having
an additional mixing tap outlet. One can choose to have water running through the mixing tap
or the overhead shower. The mixing tap outlet is 140 mm above the sink. The 6536 is available
in two different connections.
All three overhead showers are connected to hot and cold water and the temperature can be
set manually to a defined temperature.
Pre-cleaning accessories
Spray gun
The spray gun supplied by Famos is the ideal instrument for cleaning laboratory glassware,
pipettes, syringes, catheters, cuvettes, endoscopes, cystoscopes, cannulae and a variety of
other instruments and articles used in clinics, laboratories, and medical practices -in other
words, everywhere where highest cleanliness and hygiene are mandatory.
The spray gun uses either water, demineralized water or compressed air. This means the cleaning
process is quick, efficient and inexpensive. The spray gun features a new type of internal flow
control mechanism. It permits the smooth and simple adjustment of the water or airflow across
the entire range of the trigger movement. By using the small knurled screw located behind the
trigger the desired maximum water or airflow can be set. It is then regulated via the trigger up
to the set maximum value. Famos has various spray guns within its product range. Matching
spray gun holders including cone are available upon request.

Personal protection shield
The Famos personal protection shield is used in combination with the overhead shower and
provides a clear view on the sink while protecting operating staff. The protection shield
consists of two wall brackets with three height positions and an adjustable protection shield.
The protection shield rotates over 90 degrees which allows the staff to adjust the protection
shield to their own preference and to turn it away in order to be able to clean the sink.
The protection shield is made of Lexan glass. The position of the protection shield can be
adjusted and is held to its position by means of a variable holder.

Linen Inspection Table
The linen inspection table is a worktable with an all clear illuminated part built-in in the top for
easy inspection of linen. The illuminated part has four tubular lights and milky coloured glass.
The tabletop is made of plastic laminated wood.

A large variety of work and packing tables are available including upright partitions, shelving,
drawers, castors etc.
Due to the stability and durability of its tables Famos has built-up a good reputation in the
packing area of CSSD‘s.
It is based upon a tubular stainless steel frame (35x35x1.5 mm.) that is completely welded on
all corners. Heavy-duty tabletops that vary from stainless steel, Plastic coated up-to Trespa
material.
The implementation of the variety of requirements that exist around the world is no problem for
Famos. Almost every specific requirement can be implemented to meet local requirements.
The Famos module parts offer the possibility to assemble a personal packing table with baskets,
roll holders, plastic containers, shelves, etc. onto the upright partitions.

Study of personnel in their working environment made Famos develop, implement and
improve comfort and efficiency in the packing area.
Ergonomic considerations play an ever-increasing role in the working environment. Not only
work satisfaction can be increased but also the risk of health complaints drastically diminishes.
A very important consideration in ensuring a good work posture is the height of the packing
tabletop. In certain circumstances a fixed alteration of the table height will not automatically
lead to a lasting solution to the problem. Take the case where different people of various heights
and postures are required to use the same packing table or when certain tasks are alternately
performed standing and then sitting. In such cases six push buttons offer the solution!
Famos designed a height adjustable packing table that is operated by push buttons to adjust
the tabletop to a higher or lower position thus providing an adjustable and variable tabletop
height from 820 to 1320 mm. The height adjustable packing table with electronic control
allows a pre-set of three different heights.
The tabletop is mounted on two height adjustable columns that operate on 220V-50Hz.

Famos designs and manufactures complete working stations up-on client specifications to
improve the working environment and the ergonomics of the staff, who has to work with it.
The workstation as displayed above is equipped with:

On top of the frame a stainless steel worktable top has been placed with dimensions:

Tape dispenser
The Famos tape dispensers are available in three different capacities and are applicable for
tapes with a max. width of 25mm. The tape dispensers have extra heavy weight in the bottom
to guarantee a stable working platform. Famos is able to offer an extra weight which can be
mounted to the bottom of the tape dispenser in case a heavier tape dispenser is required. The
tape dispensers are equipped with a tape guidance pin which makes it easier to take the tape
of the roll.

Chair
Famos has various height adjustable work chairs within its product range. These chairs are
suitable for intensive use and give a lot of comfort. The models displayed above have a backrest
and seating that are made of PUR/Pro material (Polyurethane) which is comfortable, easy
to clean and resistant to chemical disinfectants. Additional features like armrests, footrests
and swivel castors are available to complete your work chair.

Inspection / Magnification lamp
The inspection / magnification lamp enables a better inspection of instruments. Famos has
two type of magnification lamps as standard in its product range, the FAM122T and the
FAM319.
Heat Sealing
General
All hospitals and the Medical industry are constantly striving for perfection in sterility.
An important aspect in this matter is the sterilization of instruments and other necessities.
However, sterilization alone is not enough; maintaining this sterility for a fixed period of time
after the sterilization process is at least as important. In order to assure that the sterility is
maintained for a long period of time it is crucial that the packaging is perfectly sealed and that’s
where Famos comes in.
Its extensive experience allows Famos to develop the most sophisticated and reliable heat
sealing machines available within the medical and pharmaceutical markets.
Famos was the first company within the medical field that manufactured heat sealing machines
that were micro-processor controlled. This quality applies to all rotary heat sealers of the
Famos brand.
The built-in printer and parameter control are also features that were introduced within the
medical market by Famos.
Famos adapts the software of its heat sealers to the ever changing demands of the medical
market and the software is continuously updated with more features and customer specific
applications, which results in a continuous improvement of our heat sealers.
Nowadays, the extensive range of Famos heat sealing equipment comprised more than thirteen

Famos gives a warranty of two years on all of its heat sealing equipment, with exception of
the motors and the fans. On these parts, there is a warranty period of five years. 1 1) There is no warranty on insulation strips, printer heads, ink cassettes and geared belts.
The insulation strips should be checked and replaced after every 150.000 pouches that
have been sealed.
F70 impulse sealer
The F70 impulse heat sealer is very suitable to use whenever small quantities of seals are
being made or to seal material that can not be sealed by rotary heat sealers. They are very
suitable for sealing dust covers as well.
The F70 is a very reliable machine that is very easy to operate and it provides your packaging
material with a perfect seal.
The sealer is manually operated.
It is very suitable for sealing almost every kind of packaging material such as, Polypropylene,
Polyethylene, Tyvek pouches, laminated pouches, paper pouches and many other materials.
Furthermore, it is also ideal for process packaging material from the roll. For this purpose, the
F70 has a built-in roll holder to pack items and a cutting device in order to separate the sealed
packaging from the roll.

This model is time-controlled and has an effective seal length of 320mm and a seal width of
8mm.
The F70-400
This model is time-controlled as well as temperature-controlled and has an effective seal
length of 420mm and a seal width of 8mm.
F108 series rotary heat sealers: F108, F108T, F108TI, F108TX
Famos has rotary heat sealers in its product range for whenever larger quantities need to be
sealed
The F108 series represents the basic models within the Famos rotary heat sealing equipment
range, but at the same time these are the most sophisticated models of their kind around the
world. Each model has an accurate sealing temperature setting by means of a keyboard which
is displayed on by an LCD display with a good visual read out.
The F108 model is the standard model in this series, while in addition to this model, the F108T
is equipped with a production counter with audible alarm.
The F08TI and F108TX both have an automatic transportation start, called EASS2, as well as
a reverse transportation feature, called RAS3 which ensures safety and prevents the instruments
from being damaged.
Both models are also equipped with another safety feature that stops the machine from sealing
when there is a temperature difference of 5°C in regard to the set temperature and the
actually measured temperature.
The F108TX is the top model in this series. It has the same specifications as the F108TI, but
it offers a production counter with audible alarm in addition.
Each model is available in two versions:
The first version produces a rib seal and is suitable for laminated pouches and paper pouches,
to accommodate a controlled opening of the pouch.
The second version produces a flat seal and is suitable for Tyvek material as well as laminated

F110 series rotary heat sealers: F110, F110D, F110DEP, F110DBC
The second series within the range of Famos rotary heat sealers is the F110 series, which
consists of four models. The F110 series is being used within larger hospitals and the
Pharmaceutical and Medical Device industries where many pouches have to be processed
continuously.
All models of the F110 series offer the possibility to make a selection from over twenty different
languages within the menu that is being shown in the LCD-display and can be operated
by means of an alphanumeric keyboard.
Both the LCD-display and the menu are very conveniently arranged, which makes it very easy
to operate the machine without even having to consult the manual.
Not only do the sealers of the F110-series have EASS2 and RAS3, but all the F110 models,
except for the F110 standard, also have a built-in printer, which depending on the model, can
print several items, such as the packing date, expiry date, a code, texts and bar codes on the
packaging.
The print settings are adjustable and symbols conforming the EN 980 can be printed.
The F110DEP and F110DBC models both have the following features:
Printing of 30 characters of text information
Storage of 255 texts.
They can be connected to a label printer to print the data on labels.
They can be connected to a PC to enter texts, by means of the software program t
hat is included with the sealer.
A cable to connect the sealer to the PC is included as well.
The F110DBC distinguishes itself by being the only model of the F110 series that offers a
second built-in printer to print barcode or an additional line of text. Furthermore, the
F110DBC can work with many software applications, which generate the barcode and other
information that needs to be printed on packaging material.
Each model is available in two versions:

and paper pouches, to accommodate a controlled opening of the pouch.
The second version produces a flat seal and is suitable for Tyvek material
as well as laminated pouches and paper pouches.
F220 series rotary heat sealers: F220D, F220DEP, F220DBC
The F220 series of rotary heat sealers represents the most advanced and secure rotary heat
sealers of their kind, which enables the user to use the latest technology.
The F220 series represents the most sophisticated rotary heat sealers that are available at
the moment. The features which makes these sealers so unique is the constant monitoring of
the three seal parameters which are being checked with every single seal. In case one of the
three parameters (temperature, speed, pressure) is incorrect, the sealer will give the operator a
warning and stops sealing.
The F220 series is available in three models: the F220D, F220DEP and F220DBC.
Each model of the F220 series is completely controlled and operated by means of a menu in
a selectable language by means of the large built-in LCD display and alphanumeric keyboard.
Both the LCD-display and the menu are very conveniently arranged, which makes it very easy
to operate the machine without even having to consult the manual.
All the F220 models have EASS2 and RAS3 as well as a built-in printer, which, depending on
the model, can print the packing date, expiry date, lot number, texts and bar codes on the
packaging.
Furthermore, four expire times can be pre-set, all models of this series have a flexible print
start position, their print settings are adjustable and they all can print symbols conform the
EN 980 regulation.
The F220DEP and F220DBC models both have the following features:
Printing of 40 characters of text information
Storage of 799 texts.
They can be connected to a label printer to print various data on labels.
They can be connected to a PC to enter texts, by means of the software program that is
included with the sealer. A cable to connect the sealer to the PC is included as well.
On top of these features, The F220DBC offers a second built-in printer to print barcode or an
additional line of text. Just like the F110DBC, the F220DBC can work with many software
applications, which generate the barcode and other information that needs to be printed on
packaging material.

provide a supporting smooth platform for the packaging material during the heat sealing process.

As an accessory for the rotary heat sealers front tables of stainless steel are available. They
provide a supporting smooth platform for the packaging material while heat sealing. The rollers
guide heavy packaging more easily through the heat sealing machine and prevent that the
heavy weight causes bad seals.

Label printer
The rotary heat sealers type F110 DEP, F110DBC, F220DEP and F220DBC are able to print
labels by means of the separate label printer. The texts and number of labels can be programmed
by the rotary heat sealers. The needle printer is supplied with a connection cable, pin-feed
transportation and power cable.

Roll holder
The standard packaging material used for packing medical devices sometimes does not meet
the diversity in sizes of instruments.
For this reason Famos has designed a roll holder including a self-sharpening cutting device in
order to create the length of packaging material which is required. The packing materials are
stored on two nylon rollers to avoid any damage to the packing material during unrolling.
The rotating knife of the cutting device is made from the highest quality of hardened steel and
is self-sharpening which ensures years of maintenance free use.
The roll holders are available as a standard in three sizes i.e. 600, 750 and 900 mm.
Furthermore an extension can be added which doubles the storage capacity of the holder. All
roll holders are available as a table model or in a version that can be attached to the wall or
to the back of a work-table.

Seal table (height adjustable)
To accommodate the heat sealer and its accessories Famos designed a manually height adjustable
seal table. The Seal table has four castors with a diameter of 75 mm of which two with brakes. On
both sides baskets can be hung on the hooks that are provided. The height adjustment is done
manually by two knobs.
Wire Trays
Deep drawn stainless steel wire trays with stacking rim and 3x3mm mesh wire of 1mm,
electrolytically polished Trays are equipped with collapsible grips with exception of article
number 50.100.064 and 50.101.064.
Trays with perforated sides
Stainless steel trays with perforated sides of Ø2mm. Mesh bottom of 3x3mm with 1mm wire
thickness, electrolytic polished. Trays are equipped with collapsible grips with exception of
article number 50.101.397, 50.101.058, 50.101.230 and 50.101.061.
Stainless steel instrument trays used for the

The mesh size is 6,5mm which gives a good water flow when cleaning the instruments in a
washer disinfector. The wire diameter is 1.5mm the wires are thoroughly welded which results
in a perfect finish. All trays are electrolytically polished.

Stainless steel wire baskets used for the storage and sterilisation of instrument trays. The
baskets are stackable and nestable and are equipped with a double upper rim for extra stability.
All baskets are electrolytically polished.
Wire plateau
The wire plateaus are designed to be used as a shelf within a storage room in combination
with a storage rack or can be used for placing packed trays on. The dimensions of the plateaus
allow them to be used in combination with DIN or ISO systems.
The plateaus are manufactured of electrolytically polished stainless steel 304. There are no
sharp edges on the plateau due to the fact all wires have been thoroughly welded.
Endoscope basket
The endoscope baskets are specially designed to transport and house endoscopes to ensure
a good protection against damaging. The silicone fixation, which is placed in the basket, is
suitable for cleaning and disinfecting as well as sterilising at 134°C.

Paper trolley
Paper stands and trolleys are widely used for storage of sterilisation wrapping papers.
The Famos paper trolleys are designed to store wrapping paper clearly and to have them
within hand reach whenever they are required. The trolley is made of stainless steel which
ensures a life time use without any problems.
The Famos paper trolleys can be modified with a bottom shelf and paper clamps which prevent
paper from gliding away.
The paper trolley is a paper stand on four swivel castors made out of stainless steel round
tubes 1.4301 and has a capacity of four frames on which up to four different dimensions
material of paper can be hung.
The paper trolley is provided with four anti-static swivel castors of which two are equipped
with a brake. Diameter of the swivel castors is 75 mm. Just above the swivel castors four wall
protectors are mounted which prevent the trolley from colliding to the wall.

Pass-through cabinet
To maintain a good air pressure difference in between the departments of the CSSD Famos has
designed a pass-through cabinet that is mounted in the wall and ensures a good air tightness.
The pass-through cabinet allows the transportation of baskets from one department into the other
department without open door transportation. The pass-through cabinet consists of a stainless
door at the loading side and a glass door at the unloading side. Both doors are electrically interlocked
on each other in such a way that only one door can be opened at a time. Both doors
have a sealing that provides the air tightness of the doors.
Pass-through cabinet
Pass-through cabinet with window assembly based on a stainless steel frame which will be
placed in between two walls.
The pass-through cabinet consists of two cabinets including four transfer windows made of
glass to transfer 4 ISO baskets with a size of with of 400mm, length of 600mm and a maximum
high of 150mm. Both sides of the pass-through cabinet are equipped with glass windows
which makes it easy for the personnel on the exit side to see the movement of goods which
are ready to be processed. The windows as well as the doors of the cupboard are equipped
with a long lasting rubber sealing which makes the cabinet near to airtight.
The windows are being opened by a ridged grip which will slide the window in a vertical position.
The hinges used to lift the glass windows are made of
stainless steel as well.
Underneath the pass-through section a stainless steel
cupboard is placed which is equipped with two doors on
each side. The doors are lockable. The cabinet will be
delivered with fixed shelves. The complete passthrough
cabinet is produced of stainless steel.
Cleaning with detergent or any other cleaning fluid will
be no problem due to the use of these materials
The pass-through transfer hatch will be supplied ready to use.
No further installations have to be made.

Pass-through transfer hatch (pneumatic)
Pass-through transfer hatch which is designed for placement between packing area and sterile
area at a CSSD. The cabinet underneath the pass-through hatch is completely made of
stainless steel with exception of the window which is made of clear plastic board, which is
scratch resistant. The window is moving quickly up and down by a pneumatic cylinder. The
transfer hatch is equipped with a force protection which prevent dangerous situations from
happening, when closing the window and materials are placed underneath the window.
The unit is operated through a switch on
both sides of the unit.
The complete unit will be supplied
with stainless steel covers.

Transport trolley height adjustable
The Famos height adjustable transport trolleys are designed for the loading and unloading of
loading trolleys which have to or have been sterilised into an steam steriliser.
Famos offers height adjustable transport trolleys that can be adjusted to every steriliser with
the result that heavy human lifting is history.
The trolley is constructed of a high quality stainless steel frame that ensures a lifetime workability
without having any worries. The height adjustment takes place by two push buttons which are
connected through a flexible curled wire.
The rechargable battery has to be charged once or twice a week in case of intensive use and is
easily done by the supplied adapter that is plugged in. When the battery is charged frequently
and the users prevent that the battery is getting completely empty the life time will be around
7-10 years without having to replace the batteries.
The transport trolley is easy to transport due to the large anti static castors that have a diameter
of Ø 125 mm. including two brakes which prevent the trolley from gliding.
Famos offers the possibility to manufacture the trolley upon client specific requirements in
order to adapt the trolley to any brand of sterilizer.

The complete combination of trolleys is designed for the transportation of dirty instruments
from the operation theatre to the CSSD or vice versa without the risk of causing contamination.
The transport trolley is designed to slide the inner trolley out of the outer trolley without lifting
which prevents serious injuries from happening to the staff.
The inner trolley can be equipped with u-profiles to store baskets and trays that on the same
time can be sterilised within the same rack without having to take the goods out again.
The outer trolley is equipped with a pushing bar that can be adjusted to a specific height on
clients’ requirements.

Closed transport trolley
The trolley will be completely made of stainless steel 304 and is equipped with two pushing
bars on each side.
The four (4) large swivel castors are Ø 200mm for easy transport and are equipped with two
brakes. Above the castors rubber bumpers have been placed which protect the trolley as well
as the walls. The bumpers can be taken of easily.
The pushing bars will be placed on the sides which makes it possible to open the doors over 270°.
The pushing bars are standard red. Other colours are available upon request.
The trolley is equipped with three shelves mounted on a fixed height which divides the trolley
into four spaces.
The door is equipped with a key lock which prevents unauthorised people from opening the
trolley. All doors are equipped with long lasting rubber sealings.
The trolley is completely made of stainless steel 304 instead of aluminium which can be done
due to an unique structure the Famos transport trolleys have. The trolley will be very light
which makes them easy to transport.

Open transport trolley, slide strips
The open transport trolley is used for internal transportation of trays at the CSSD. The open
transport trolley has a number of levels of slide strips on which the trays are placed and has
four Ø 75 mm swivel castors of which two with brakes. The distance in between the slide
strips is 90 mm. The trolley is suitable to hold the standard DIN-trays with dimensions
480*250*60mm. Open transport trolley for ISO baskets is available on request.

The basket storage trolley is suitable to store baskets which are
nestable. The baskets are stored from the top. The built-in springs
keep the top basket at the top of the trolley. The basket storage
trolley is used to safely store the baskets when not in use. The trolley

The wire plateau storage trolley is suitable to store wire plateaus.
The plateaus are stored from the top. The built-in springs keep the
top wire plateau at the top of the trolley. The trolley has four swivel

Colour-Control Indicators for Sterilization Purposes
Steam Sterilization
Chemical colour control indicators - so-called integrators - show only a sufficient colour change
if all necessary parameters were achieved during sterilisation. These integrators have a high
level of similarity to biological indicators and can, used (maybe with a simulator) at points that
are difficult to reach, give an information which is as good as that of a biological indicator; but
cannot replace it.
The advantage of chemical indicators: the result can be read immediately.

Chemical process indicators (strips, tapes, labels) which are put on every good to be sterilized,
to exclude any confusion with non-sterilized goods. These indicators shows by a colour change,
that the necessary temperature respectively the necessary gas concentration was reached. All
other necessary parameters are not taken into account

Patient-Documentation Label
Those labels have a colour control indicator and should be placed in the middle of each pack
or container if documentation for every patient is required.
For a complete documentation the printed words: „contents“, „packed by“, „packed on“
should be filled in at the Central Sterilization Service Dept.(CSSD) and after the use in the
operation theatre the name of the patient should be added.
The labels are self-adhesive and can be sticked easily to the operation report. It is useful to
put a marking label by using a labelling device on those labels which provides all necessary
sterilization data leading to a direct reference between sterilization and patient.
