Around 1950, the brothers Jacob and Anton de Greef discovered a challenge which kept them intrigued. Would it be possible to improve the speed and efficiency of the manual fruit sorting process?
Established in the middle of the Betuwe, the Dutch fruit cultivation region par excellence, they sought and found the modern solution for manual sorting work.
Their sorting unit, «The Top», became the first in a succession of increasingly improving and more efficient sorters. The clientele grew steadily and, with them, the variety of solutions and possibilities offered by the sorting units. After having worked on solid and well thought-out innovations for many decades, Greefa has by now become a worldwide reputed specialist in the field of sorting fruit and vegetables.
Quality in several aspects
Greefa is a true family firm in terms of organisation and culture and employs more than 200 persons at present. The high-quality sorting units for fruit and vegetables, which we develop and manufacture, have been installed all over the world. Greefa is a worldwide leader in the production of this type of equipment.
Market demand determines the development of our sorting units. We keep in close touch with both the producing sector and the buyers of fruit and vegetables. These contacts reveal constantly growing attention to the quality of fruit and vegetables. That’s why we focus our innovations and developments on this aspect in particular.
A large number of in-house developed and patented products have given us a prominent position in the market. Unique systems and modules enable us to offer solutions which combine multifunctional features, sorting requirements and ease of use. After all, no two sorting demands are alike and therefore neither are our solutions. The high quality of the systems is never under discussion, however.
