ALMET, Joint Stock Company Hradec Králové
a company with a long tradition in making and supplying of pistons for internal combustion engines and compressors.
Piston manufacture
from various aluminum alloys, divided by silicon contents and in various construcion options:
- with in-cast carrier of the piston ring by the "ALFIN" method (molecular metal connecting).
- with cooling cavity inside the piston formed by soluble core or metal spiral
- bimetallic pistons (lower piece made from AL-alloy, with the ring part and base of steel)
We are an important sponsor on a yearly basis of the TATRA crew in the Paris - Dakar ralley.
Manufacturing assortment
Pistons within the wide products range from 32 mm to 350 mm in diam. designed for motor-cycles, lorry-trucks, auxiliary engines, compressors, ship, railway and stationary engines in various modifications.
Major customers
are maily companies from Europe, Asia and Africa, in Czech Republic TATRA, a.s. Koprivnice, KS Motor Servis CZ Ltd., Motoco a.s. Ceské Budejovice among others.

Quality control system
All products of ALMET company meet the stadards of ISO 9001.
The company was established in 1933 by a Czech businessman, Alois Rieger.
It was known by the name of Rial at that time.
The production of pistons for motorcycles and automobiles began in 1946.
From 1951 to 1990 it was a member of the state enterprise "Metalurgické závody Týnec nad Sázavou"
In 1992, the independent ALMET was established.
This company was privatised using investment coupons in the firts wave of the coupon privatisation programme. One of the main shareholder is Prosperita IF Plc, investment fund.
Since 1989 the company has been a member of SAP/AIA (Association of automobile industry) for discovering and pursuing common interests, plans and targets in the automobile industry.
