Company description
Two Brands form a strong expert team
Since 2000, the "Michelbacher Huette" foundry of Passavant forms part of the ACO Group. The traditional AWK brand was integrated with the ACO Group as early as 1997.
From the two strong brands AWK and Passavant, ACO Guss GmbH arose, the experts in the field of casting technology within the ACO Group.
The two production sites at Kaiserslautern and Aarbergen produce with a workforce in excess of 500 for customers in the sectors of structural castings and industrial castings, as well as for the ACO Group's range.
High-Tech and Tradition
The history of the foundry can be traced back at Aarbergen to the year 1652. The former Michelbacher Hutte began with the manual production of cast iron objects for domestic use.
Production of castings for drainage technology began at the end of the 19th century following takeover of the company by Adolf Passavant.
This tradition has developed at present at Aarbergen and Kaiserslautern into a highly technicalised production centre which, thanks to the very comprehensive investments in technology and capacities by the ACO Group, has been extended into maximum competitiveness in the international market. ACO Guss today practice most modern metallurgy and manufacturing technology for continuous castings, machine castings and manual form casting at highest level.
